tkeene,
Original Hokusai prints can range in value from <$100 to >$100,000.
Hokusai produced 1,000s of designs and Fuji was one of his favorite subjects so even an expert may have difficulty identifying the print from your description.
The first issue may be whether you have an original print. You could likely get a quick and authoritative answer by posting the image on this and/or a similar site, Ukiyoe Q and A.
Otherwise, this and other questions are answered in a general manner by John Fiorillo on his web site in "Viewing Japanese Prints".
One way to reach this site:
www.google.com
search for John Fiorillo
click on Viewing Japanese Prints
click on Frequently Asked Questions
click on How do I tell if I have an original as well as other subjects.
from this page you can also access Ukiyo-e Q and A where you can also post queries and search for information.
For researching Hokusai prints, I initially go to Richard Lane's books (below) which are in many libraries and can also be purchased from an internet book seller like amazon.con.
a. Richard Lane's "Images From The Floating World"
b. Richard Lane's "Hokusai: Life and Work"
Richard Lane's Hokusai catalogues all of Hokusai's known prints and books (as of 1989) as well as providing many accompanying thumbnail illustrations. "Images from the Floating World" catalogues many of Hokusai's most important known works in a similar manner.
