I learned from Richard Lane's "Images from the Floating World" Preface where he provides thumbnail sketches of many Ukiyoe artists that Toshihide (1863-1925) was a painter and print artist; studied ukiyo-e under Yoshitoshi, Western-style painting under Kunisawa Shinkuro. No info on Getsuko though.

A good place to start on your subject matter could be the Donald Keene Center of Japanese Culture at Columbia University, New York City. They recently hosted a conference on "300 years of the 47 Ronin: A Chushingura Retropsective" and display a webpage on the subject. Go to http://www.columbia.edu/cu/ealac/dkc/ and click on the box of "300 years ..." near the top of the page.
