: I have found a old watercolor for a Japanise man, and a pack horse. On the back it tells the name of the man, and that he is coming from the mines, and has on his rain protection, and the date July 1907... any info on him? The only one I can find on the internet was born in 1927, so can't be this person

This fellow painted watercolors, pre WW2. I have a couple of them that were purchased at Marshall Field Galleries, Chicago, in the 1930's. Occasionally you see his work on ebay-they don't sell for much. His paintings always seem to be common folk-farmers, and rural workers. He has (had?) a son who is more well known and his colorful "wood block prints", whatever that is, sell for a more substantial amount.
