Want to add, however, that buffered cardboard for matt and back is not the first choice, because the buffering capacity (usually Calcium carbonate) against acidic materials is only given for a few years. Therefore, under any circumstances, the serious collector should accept only museum quality cardboard. Although a little more expensive, the cost is only a small fraction of the cost of the print and such money for top quality matts and backs is really well spent.
