Emil Orlik (1870 - 1932)_born Prague, died Berlin
In 1903 Orlik visited Japan where he travelled widely and studied Japanese woodblock printing.
He became proficient in the art and on his return to Europe he taught the techniques in Berlin and other centres. He published a portfolio "Aus Japan" containing colour woodcuts, lothographs and etchings of Japanese scenes, besides publishing many other works on Japan. He also illustrated books by Lafcadio Hearn and others about Japan.
I am interested in information on Orlik prints.
A number are illustrated in the site 'http://www.wolman-prints.com'
