: : I have bought a kuniyoshi print, and would like to figure out what legend the print tells. Could anybody help me with the calligrafy on it? The picture shows an older samurai on a horse, apparently victorious, though several arrows are sticking in his back, while lifting his left arm, holding an armour (?) in his hand. He seems to be crushing a soldier with his horse.
: : If you mail me i'll be more than happy to mail you small samples of the picture, as well as the calligrafy.

Somebody, mr Tomoko Yamamoto, much obliged, mailed me the name of the person in the print.
It is "Onigashima Yataro". I am now looking for the tale. Seems familiar to anyone?
