I just acquired a small "momento" book, with woodcuts about 3 x 5 inches. The book has a woodcut version of all 53 Tokaido scenes. The title page reads "Ando-Hiroshige/Fifty-Three Sceneries of Tokaido/Miniature Edition/by/Takamizawa's Woodcut Colour Print/ The prints are very detailed and beautifully colored. Got at local antique sale for $40. Does anybody know what this is? Oh, also, it has a title under each picture (e.g. "l-Nihonbashi/The first stage of the Tokaido Highway. A lively scene at Nihonbashi Bridge at dawn." Right, in English, though it does have a Japanese table of contents (which I can't read). Are there original Hiroshige prints available? What do they cost? What is this: a kind of sourvenir, or homage to the artist? Why are their English titles under each picture? Whatever you can share would be most appreciated. : I have just started in this realm of art, would you share some information with me: have you bought any art works from this site, do they give any Certs of Authenticity with their art? Are they framed? How do they come to you, rolled? Flat? Are these works signed by the Artist? Thank you for any help you can give me. I do own one work of Toyokuni III, signed and framed.
