I'm still keeping track of modern POP-music. But my experience with ukiyo-e prints is similar to yours. Although I also tend to enjoy the occasional Sharaku and Utamaro to. In fact we're dealing here with the relationship between art,esthetics and our own cultural backgrounds. I wonder how someone from Japan would have reacted on our previous e-mail in this newsgroup.
I also wonder if they visit this newsgroup at all?!?
