: I realize that this is off the topic of Japanese prints, but I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a matter of interest to me. Years ago, my ex-brother-in-law returned from a trip to China with lovely paper cuttings--that is, scenes created by cutting with scissors into stiff paper. I've never seen them since, and I've lost touch with this brother-in-law. Does anyone know where I can learn more about this paper art? Is there anything online about it?

: Thanks, Stan

Hi there, You may go to a Chinese Book store in
any big cities and asking them to find a book
or actual paper cuttings (usually in a set) for
you. Last year I bought a large calender decorated
with paper cuttings for each month. The paper cuttings
as I know are using a thin paper which is placed
against a thicker paper to show the details of
cutting. Good luck for you to find a good one!
