There have been a number of postings asking for good reference books. One of the more often mentioned ones is Richard Lane's out of print:"Images From THe Foating World". I have one, and it is extrememly useful.
In searching for books on ukiyo-e, I just spotted one for sale on e-bay, for those who would like to buy one. It is Item #55123275, and the auction ends in 5 days (1/15). I'm not a part of this auction, but just thought I could provide a hint to someone who has been looking for this book.
