I've been trying to research the background of two Kuniyoshi triptychs I've had for years. Unfortuneately, neither is directly pictured in the references I've obtained (even the 1998 Schaap book Heroes & Ghosts). So the best I can hope for is to at least identify the series. I did find what appeared to be a similar print to one of mine but it was a diptych. My question is, "Are print series ever a combination of sizes (either paper sizes or sheet numbers) or are series always the same in every way"? Is there any way to identify a series (if you can't read japanese) other than to try to visually match up the unknown to a reference book?
