I am uneasy about recommending any sort of plastic for the storage of prints. It would not be an archival procedure that a reputable print conservator would accept. As indicated, static charges are an issue for loosely adhered pigments such as metallics and mineral powders, as is tearing of the paper if drawn across the edges of the plastic. Also, if the plastic is contaminated on its surface (through humidity, chemical decomposition, dirt, etc.) and then the prints pressed between plastic surfaces, you might do some damage in the long term.
There is no perfect way to store prints, but the use of heavy-weight, pH neutral, non-buffered paper folders placed within archival-quality storage boxes gets my vote.
