You make an excellent point about the day-to-day changes and their imperceptibility, which is a really insidious trap for the unsuspecting collector. This is exactly what happened with the example I discussed on my web page. In fact, I was not immediately aware of the progressive fading myself during visits to the owner's home over the last decade, but when the print came back to me, I was suspicious about the red color, so I dug into my old notes and luckily found not only the notes but a color slide.

One more point - it is not only the UV light you mention but also visible wavelengths of light that cause damage to colors and papers.
