I had to take mine out into full light and use a magnifying glass before I could tell, and even now I'm not 100% certain about the pencil signature. It's just the way I'm betting. Surely if the "toku" seal had been used in Mr. Yoshida's lifetime that would have been known, and documented. For that matter, I'd expect any use of it to mark special editions or anything else would be known, but that's yet to be demonstrated. It's even proving harder to get any information on the 1985 edition than I expected. Ah, well. Onward.

: Richard, I've read the Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi" in entirety and have studied every illustration. The "toku" seal is not in there. To further confuse matters, I believe the print I am looking at is pencil-signed, although I cannot tell with certainty.
