I have a couple of prints from two separate sets of the Chushingura and was curious about the dates. The first is the Choki chuban set. The scenes are presented in a circle with gauffrage and calligraphy outside the circular image. I think that this set was done around 1780s but would like a more specific date if known. This is the set in Basil Stewart's "A Guide to Japanese prints and their Subjects" (pp.290-291 Dover Edition - plate 53). The other set is Eisen's second Chushingura. The one with the heavy black border of crossed arrow mon crests as a pattern. I think it is from 1820s but again would like a more definite date if known. Stewart mentions them on pp.271-2 in the Dover. He tells a little about both sets but seemed to find dating them unimportant. If anyone knows the dates or has other information, I would be very appreciative.

Thanks
