I've had this for awhile (was grandparents', mom gave it to me because I liked it and she didn't) and am curious who made it, but I'm more curious about what this scene depicts. Bunch of guys in a waterfall with bells and a giant paddle?
I am a complete neophyte, but from eyeballing the 'signatures' page, it looks like part of the signature might say "Toyokuni" but since that appears to be so common I haven't had any luck finding any particularly similar scenes from which I could infer a meaning. Maybe it's a play? In any event, I'm clueless.
If any kind souls can shed some light on this, I'd very much appreciate it.
