: I have a I have a 1975 woodblock print signed by Hoshi . It was purchased in Tokyo
: at that time and is titled Blue Tree (I think). It is number 32 of 99. It
: is framed 24" x 38" and the actual mat opening housing the print is 17" x
: 30". Any idea of current value?
Hoshi died in 1979 and is best known as the "Tree Artist" He is still widely collected and as the norm in print values, everything is dependent upon condition. One must observe the print out of the frame to really determine it's condition. If the print is in reasonably good condition, one could expect it to be sold at auction for 1,000 - 1,300+. At a recent Sloan's Auction, the Hoshi framed prints realized between $600 and $2,750.
