: Please see the Reply by Theo de Kreijger to my question abou "Dating of prints" of 2/26/98 in this forum.
: He gives the address where to get the book "What About Kunisada". I think it might interest you, although I have not seen it myself, yet.

For those who are (just like me) interested in Kunisada (Toyokuni III) I can give you some more interesting booktitles:

1. The Fine Arts Academy of Finland had an exhibition in 1985 in the Sinebrychoff Art Museum about Kunisada's kabuki prints. The catalogue about these print of the Antell Collection really is a 'must have'! It describes 342 single prints, dyptichs and tryptichs and has lots of (B&W) reproductions. ISBN: 951-9289-20-8. The Sinebrychoff Art Museum has a site and although they mention these prints, they don't give any further data or pictures. See: http://www.fng.fi/fng/html2/en/art/collecti/printdra/group/japanese/

2. Numbers 53,55 and 56 of Andon, which is the bulletin of the Society for Japanese Arts, have an interesting discussion printed between Lawrence R. Bickford and Hendrick Lühl about Kunisada using the autograph Toyokuni before 1842.
The society has no site, alas.

Yours truly, Theo de Kreijger
