I have a small book, published by the Smithsonian in 1984,
that gives quite an interesting description of the Japanese
woodblock printmaking process. The book makes constant
reference to a print that was donated to the museum at that
time, but does not contain an illustration of it.
I would like to find such an illustration, in order to help make
sense of the descriptions in the book.
They describe the print as a triptych with the title 'Yinaka
Genji', designed by 'Kuniteru called also Yichiyusai'. Their
description includes:
"... a hilly landscape, in the middle ground of which agricultural
operations are being carried on. Six larger figures occupy the
foreground .. " Two women are on the left sheet, one on the
centre sheet, and two woman and a man on the right sheet.
Can anyone help point me to this print?
